Being in the field of Psychotherapy since 2010, I started out working with children and parents. Best of both worlds as I love children and have an immense passion for my field of study. I specialise in helping parents understand their children’s behaviour better and to better equip them with parenting skills to overcome difficulties when it comes to raising children, especially those with special needs.
I have worked with children with ADHD, Autism, learning difficulties and children whose conducts were labelled as “misbehaviours” due to the lack of understanding and knowledge. I have given talks and workshops to parents in childcare centres, facilitating them with skills that will make raising children even more fun and enjoyable!
Driven by the importance of nurture and nature, I began to broaden my clientele to working with teenagers, young adults and adults, since 2014 until presently. I work alongside these individuals through their journey in understanding and coping with their mental disorders. I also work with people in general who are going through life transitions and have reached a roadblock in terms of their direction in life and relationships with other individuals.
Presently, I specialise in mental health disorders such as addictions, substance abuse, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), gender/sexual identity, couples therapy and group therapy. I believe that everyone needs therapy one way or another, to rehabilitate their mind, soul and heart.

I am pleased to introduce myself as Berfont, a devoted mental health professional. I have been serving in the social sector since 2016, notably in supporting youths with special needs and youths at risk. Since 2018, I have specialized in providing counselling services to adults grappling with mental health conditions. Across these varying contexts, my work has consistently been aimed at promoting mental well-being for individuals from diverse backgrounds.

At the heart of my therapeutic approach is Person-Centred Therapy (PCT). I prioritize PCT for its emphasis on creating a safe, therapeutic, and respectful environment. This nurturing environment serves as a haven for healing and self-attunement, offering clients the freedom to re-evaluate and reconstruct deeply-held beliefs and personal rules.

My primary tool for case conceptualization is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I particularly value CBT for its structured, evidence-based approach, which allows for multifaceted interventions at cognitive, emotional, and behavioural levels.

When exploring early childhood experiences and addressing core emotional unmet needs, I employ Transactional Analysis (TA) as a means to identify client-specific entry points. This approach complements the PCT and CBT frameworks by enhancing self-awareness and fostering self-compassion.

As additional interventions, I also incorporate Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Attachment Styles, and perspectives from Family Systems and Psychodynamic frameworks. These added approaches help me see my clients' situations from multiple angles, offering a fuller understanding of their needs.

On a personal note, I have a keen interest in science-based fear-free dog training. I believe the principles intrinsic to this approach offer therapeutic benefits that can positively affect human emotional well-being and coping mechanisms.

I am eager to bring my multifaceted skills and compassionate therapeutic philosophy to my clients, aiming to maintain the highest standards in mental health care.
